Firing Up the Future: The Wood Restaurant Gets a Hot New Makeover

Brokenwood Wines is proud to announce the upcoming renovation of The Wood Restaurant, ushering in a new era for its dining experience. Partnering with MRW Building, J&H Commercial, and Nextrend, the renovation will see enhancements to both the kitchen and dining spaces, which will be underpinned by the installation of Sheer Proline Parrilla Wood Grills.

Set to close for renovation from Tuesday, 10 June 2025, and reopen in early July 2025, The Wood will debut a new wood-fired menu crafted by Executive Chef Sean Townsend, who joined Brokenwood in July 2022. This innovative menu will celebrate premium local produce sourced from trusted partners such as Hungerford Meat Co., Shane's Seafood, and a wide network of local providores.

“This renovation is an exciting opportunity to fulfil Sean’s long-standing vision for The Wood. By introducing the authentic wood-fired experience, we are taking Brokenwood’s food and wine offering to another level," said Michael McPherson, Operations & Marketing Manager at Brokenwood Wines.

Throughout the renovation period, guests can continue to enjoy Brokenwood’s hospitality with our signature Taste and Match Experiences in our Tasting Pods. A selection of cheese and charcuterie is also available on our Terrace Wine Bar, seven days a week, during renovations.

The Wood Restaurant remains wholly owned and operated by Brokenwood Wines, reinforcing its unique position in the Hunter Valley as an estate-driven culinary experience prioritising quality, innovation, and support for local producers.

Keep an eye on the @brokenwoodwines socials for the restaurant's re-opening date (to be announced late June).
