2011 Forest Edge Vineyard Méthode Traditionelle

2011 Forest Edge Vineyard Méthode Traditionelle

Orange, NSW

Aromas of toast and brioche from the 6 years on yeast lees. Pale in colour and a very fine bead of CO2 evident. Bran meal flavours supported by very good acid. Aging superbly, and slowly. There's always a reason to open a bottle in celebration!

Wine Profile
Winemaker Comments
The Orange district is widely recognized as one of Australia’s premium cool climate regions. Rob Crawford established the ‘Forest Edge’ Vineyard in 1988. Vintage 2011 is Brokenwood’s 12th year of handling fruit from Forest Edge. Orange again battled inclement weather for 2011 but careful canopy management meant that we harvested not only enough for Single Vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but we could tirage an early picking of each for a sparkling.
Food Pairing
Freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters.
Drinking well now but will improve with further bottle age.
