2019 Area Blend Shiraz
BACK VINTAGE
A perfect mid-density colour with light purple tints. Red fruit aromas of cherry and strawberry. Dusty hints and vanillin oak compliment the pastille fruit flavours. Fine, ripe tannin with hints of charry French oak and lovely acidity carry through to a clean, long finish.

Winemaker Comments
The Beechworth fruit makes up two thirds off this wine.
Beechworth had sufficient winter rainfall in 2018 to see the vines off
to a great bud burst. A cool, dry, early growing season saw the vines
in good health and then 200mm of rain fell in early December. This
resulted in great canopy growth which sheltered the vines during
the heat spike in mid-January.
The Hunter Valley had its third consecutive dry vintage, producing classic medium weight Shiraz in pristine condition. The Hunters usual dry winter prevailed with a small amount of Spring/early
Summer rain giving low yields of high quality fruit. McLaren Vale
had a dry lead up the 2019 harvest through spring and over the 18/19
summer, resulting in lower crops and rapid ripening.
