Brokenwood’s 42nd vintage once again got underway a lot earlier
than our historical average. The continued dry weather across the
eastern half of Australia intensified in early January with a run of
above average temperatures, which thankfully tapered off in the latter
half of the month. The winter and spring of 2013 were very dry, in fact
207mm in the last 5 months of the year. Semillon started rolling into
the winery on January 17th and was complete by February 4th.
