Perfect Shiraz colour with deep purple hues. Lifted dark cherry and ripe blackberry aromas. Rich in flavour, the fine tannins from the fruit and oak balances the sweet fruit. This distinctive Brokenwood style Shiraz showcases the unique characteristics of the Gundagai region.
Machine harvested, and fermented in a combination of open and roto-fermenters. Not overly pumped over, as soft tannins are required.
Maturation in 100% French oak.
The 2021 vintage in Gundagai is an excellent season following 4 years of drought. Good canopy growth saw a return to near average tonnages. Favourable ripening during February led to fruit in great condition at picking.
Veal, duck and cheese dishes.
Enjoy now or over the next 5 to 10 years.
