26 - 27 July - Masterclass Weekend - Brisbane Hilton

The 2008 Hilton Brisbane/The Courier-Mail/Singapore Airlines and Brisbane Festival 2008 present Masterclass Weekend program which is packed full with a diverse range of topics brought to you by a great team of presenters drawn from around the world.
The talented presenters in the Vintage Room will take you through tastings of outstanding German Riesling from the house of Dr.Loosen, Champagne from Ayala in the the town of Ay, French Burgundy and Australian Pinot Noir. The combination of Italian and Australian wines with antipasti prepared by Stefano Manfredi will have you ready for new discoveries in the wine arena.
The Great Temptations and Lifestyle Rooms will take you on an exciting culinary exploration of food and wine matchings. Whether your preference is for chocolate, seafood, cheese, Greek, Spanish or Vietnamese cuisine or a host of other topics, the classes and tastings will expand your understanding of food and wine.

2 November - Hunter Uncorked @ Balmoral

The Hunter Valley Vineyard Association will be bringing the best of the Hunter Valley to Sydney, with the Hunter Uncorked at Balmoral event, which will be hosted at The Esplanade. Over 5,000 people are expected to attend what will be a taste bud sensation enjoyed in the wonderful atmosphere of jazzy tunes and the magnificent Balmoral Beach backdrop.
The premium outdoor Hunter Valley wine and food extravaganza will showcase wines from 16 boutique and iconic wineries including Brokenwood.
The event is free to enter; however visitors can purchase a souvenir wine glass for $5 which will be their key to the participating wineries and activities. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or by the bottle and restaurant meals will be on offer at $15 per plate, with coffee and yummy treats on hand for those with a sweet tooth. Those purchasing a glass of wine will automatically go into a draw to win a Hunter Valley Wine Country Experience.

20 July - The 2008 Lawler Partners Winery Running Festival - Hunter Valley NSW

The Third Hunter Valley Winery Festival of Running will have something for everyone. The course still maintains the unique character that is difficult for city based events to match. This includes quiet rural roadways, cycle tracks and outstanding scenery.
"It's not everyday that you get to race in such a unique environment with the event running through part of the famous Hunter Valley Gardens and past some of the Hunter's most famous wineries and resorts" said Humphrey's.
Already attracting 900 runners from all over Australia and including 40 international runners this event is tipped to attact almost 2000 runners.
