Lifted cassis and tobacco aromas with some fine oak in the background make this wine very appealing. A medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with sage notes, and fine tannins from both the fruit and oak on the palate. Lovely acidity and a cedar finish describe a Cabernet Sauvignon that will age for many years.

Vinification
The grapes were destemmed and spent 14 days on skins. Brokenwood winemaking is about soft extraction giving beautifully balanced
tannins. The wine was matured in 100% French oak for 18 months, with only 20% being new.
Winemaker Comments
The eighth release of our Wildwood Road Cabernet Sauvignon. Brokenwood Wines previously included Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon in blends with the first in 1983. Wildwood Road connects Caves Road at Yallingup on the coast to inland Carbunup and is home to several high-quality vineyards.
A rare challenging season in Margaret River, with rainfall being the dominant factor throughout the growing season. Despite this, the Yallingup sub-region fared better than others, and the pedigree of
Cabernet Sauvignon from this region is on display.

Pairs well with steak tartare or lamb dishes.
Drink
Drinking well now but will improve with extended bottle age.
