2020 Wildwood Road Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River, WA
Lifted blue fruit, cassis aromas and some dusty oak make this wine very appealing. A full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with sage notes, and fine tannins from both the fruit and oak on the palate. Lovely acidity and a cedar finish describe a Cabernet Sauvignon that will age for many years.

Vinification
The grapes were destemmed and spent 14 days on skins. Brokenwood winemaking is about soft extraction giving beautifully balanced tannins. The wine was matured in 100% French oak for 18 months with 30% being new.
Winemaker Comments
Brokenwood Wines previously included Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon in blends with the first in 1983. Wildwood Road connects Caves Road at Yallingup on the coast to inland Carbunup and is the home to a number of high quality vineyards.
A cooler than average spring, followed by a mild summer resulted in a long ripening period, producing excellent Cabernet Sauvignon.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with steak tartare, carpaccio or lamb dishes.
Drink
Drinking well now but will improve with further bottle age.
