Dazzling stuff, ripe vibrant and complex, yet amazingly light on its feet and fesh. The flavours linger seamlessly on the finish. Drink now through 2020.

The Hunter is famous for producing wines like this from early picked Semillon that blossom with bottle age.
Give this just 10 minutes in the glass to blow off a bit of sulfur. Then toasty character comes on, quite a complex wine with nuttiness and a bit of spciy flowers…………..

The Key Review of Wines (the krow)
OAKEY CREEK VINEYARD SEMILLON 2004: In the metamorphosis from grub to butterfly, this is now a butterfly but it's got greater heights to reach. An incredibly beautiful wine, lemon-scented nose, good weight and poise in the mouth, tight flavours unfolding as it journeys, underscored with fine acid, long clean finish and a final flourish at the end. 94 points now, with more to come as it ages and excellent value at $36. SEMILLON SUMMARY: The Brokenwood should not be missed, get on line to the winery and order some!

WineSkinny.com - for the inside skinny on wine!
WINE, FOOD, PAIRINGS, TASTINGS! Smooth and supple, with juicy apple, lemongrass and citrus aromas and flavours that mingle on a balanced, integrated frame. Long, intense, slightly creamy finish. This one seemed rather complete to me, so I would drink it sooner than later, say within the next couple of years. And I'd pair it with something like an upscale picnic or dinner alfresco of grilled or fried chicken and a French-style potato salad.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
by Josh Raynolds
Light gold. Exotic bouquet of lime, lemon thyme, oregano and mineral scents. Light-bodied, chewy citrus flavours are complicated by succulent herbs and bitter quinine. Riper tangerine and pear notes emerge on the long, sappy finish.
RRP: A$30 Alcohol: 11.5% Rating: 91 points
