Great wine. I was worried about the cork and amazingly it was still in good shape. A great rich deep colour with a nose of rich earth, pepper and spice that softened the longer I left it decanted. The initial tannins softened with a sweet earthy and chocolate/spice finish. Plenty of length and very enjoyable. There was little sediment but not enough to waste too much of the bottle.

2007 Brokenwood Area Blend Shiraz
Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Although based in the Hunter, Brokenwood has reached into South Australia for this Shiraz, which offers lifted, rather perfumed aromas of raspberries and strawberries supported by vanilla underpinnings. A hint of mint creeps in on the finish, framed by supple tannins and crisp acidity. Drink now-2015.

2007 Brokenwood Area Blend Shiraz
International Wine Cellar: Australian Report
by Josh Raynold
92 POINTS Deep, bright ruby. Deep, smoky nose offers cassis boysenberry, cola and candied violet. Densely packed, rich and sweet, with a velvety texture and lush dark berry compote flavours. This is drinking well right now and finishes with gentle tannins and echoes of cola an spices.
